Announcement: Need a Passport? Take Action Now for Study Abroad in 2023-2024!
US Passport processing times are significantly delayed -- up to 13 weeks for routine service. Students considering studying abroad in 2023-2024 should apply for their passport as soon as possible, if you currently do not have a passport or your passport is set to expire in 2024.
Destinations that require a visa for semester study abroad (e.g. France, Italy, and Spain) should have their passport by the application deadline to begin obtaining the visa. It might be impossible to study abroad in certain destinations, if the US passport is not received in a timely manner.

Passports generally need to be valid 3 to 6 months after the return date to the United States once the study abroad program has concluded. If your passport expires in 2024, it is recommend that you begin applying for a new passport now.
